Why must a high-temperature mold release agent be used for die-casting products? Die-casting release agents are suitable for aluminum, magnesium, and zinc alloy die-casting products and are now widely used in the automotive, telecommunications, motorcycle, and home appliance industries. Aluminum alloy die-casting release agents are auxiliaries used in the die-casting production process. Therefore, mastering the application technology of aluminum die-casting release agents is essential. Why must a high-temperature release agent be used for die-casting products?
Die-casting release agents are suitable for die-casting products in aluminum, magnesium, and zinc alloy series and are currently widely used in the automotive, telecommunications, motorcycle, and home appliance industries. Aluminum alloy die-casting release agent is an auxiliary agent used in the die-casting production process. Therefore, mastering the application technology of aluminum die-casting release agent is essential. Due to the different volumes, sizes, structural complexities, and post-processing requirements of die-casting products, the requirements for release agents also vary.
  Die-casting release agent technical parameters:
  Appearance: Milky white emulsion.
  Density: 0.97g/ml
  PH value: 6.8-7.5
  Viscosity (25℃): 20mpas.
Application principle of die-casting release agent:
Because aluminum, magnesium, and zinc alloy materials are heated and melted (aluminum melting point 660.4℃), they are injected into the mold cavity under high pressure in a liquid state and demolded with ejector pins in a short time. To ensure smooth demolding of the product, a release agent is sprayed onto the surface of the mold cavity before injection.
Application fields of die-casting release agent:
Zinc alloy die-casting release agent is suitable for demolding zinc alloy die castings such as mechanical parts, automotive parts, lamps, and IT product casings.
Usage requirements of die-casting release agent:
  1. Oil. As an effective material for inter-metal isolation, organosilicone oil is an ideal choice. This silicone oil must have the characteristics of high temperature resistance and not affecting the post-processing performance (such as aluminum product coating).
  2. Water-based. Since the mold is at a high temperature, any solvent-based release agent is unsuitable. Using water as a dispersing medium, in a high-temperature environment, the water evaporates quickly, and the effective demolding substance is evenly distributed on the surface of the mold cavity. The film is uniform, the adhesion is strong, it is resistant to high-temperature scouring, and the demolding performance is good.
  3. Emulsion. Select a suitable emulsifier to emulsify silicone oil to prevent its carbonization at high temperatures. To maintain the cleanliness of the product and mold cavity surfaces.
  4. No corrosion to castings and mold equipment. The castings have clear contours, smooth surfaces without marks, and do not affect coating. The volatiles are smokeless, non-toxic, do not pollute the environment, and do not harm the health of operators.
Product performance of die-casting release agent:
  1. No carbon deposition performance - No carbon deposition or oxide scale is produced on the surface of the mold and castings, which does not affect subsequent electroplating, spraying, and other surface treatments.
  2. Strong demolding performance - When the die-casting release agent is sprayed onto the mold surface, the effective components immediately form a dense film. This film is resistant to high pressure and scouring during the injection process, effectively preventing the adhesion of the zinc alloy liquid to the mold.
  3. Good cooling effect - Using this zinc die-casting release agent, the mold will not crack due to thermal stress, and the working cycle is shortened.
  4. Good high-temperature resistance and lubrication performance - The zinc alloy die-casting release agent forms a uniform film, does not accumulate, and the surface of the casting is bright and free of spots. The die-casting release agent has good adhesion to the high-temperature mold surface.
  5. High safety performance - The die-casting release agent is non-toxic, non-flammable, non-corrosive, has no chemical reaction, and will not produce harmful smoke or odor during use, keeping the working environment clean.
  6. Cleaning-free performance - No residue on the mold surface, simple cleaning and maintenance, clean product surface, cleaning-free.
Precautions for using die-casting release agent:
  1. The die-casting release agent is diluted with tap water at a ratio of 1:80~150 and stirred evenly; the dilution ratio can be adjusted appropriately according to the complexity of the casting, mold depth ratio, etc.
  2. Spray with a spray gun or automatic system, paying attention to uniform spraying and drying.
  3. Store the zinc alloy die-casting release agent at room temperature, pay attention to frost and sun protection, and seal it after opening.
